WEDDING BANDS CAST IN AREAS OF OUTSTANDING BEAUTY.
Forged in the place you said yes. At Shem Hake, we believe fine jewellery shouldn’t just be inspired by nature, it should be born within it. Our signature Cast At Location service is an entirely unique offering. We cast and craft directly in the landscapes that hold the deepest meaning in your story. Whether it is a windswept mountain peak, the secluded beach where you first met, or the exact spot of your proposal, we travel to your chosen horizon to create your forever rings.
The Process: Artistry in the Wild
Using the ancient, elemental arts of sand casting and ingot pouring, the entire creation takes place in the open air.
- The Vision: We carve the bespoke wax mould on-site.
- The Alchemy: We melt and pour the molten Gold, Platinum or Silver directly on location, surrounded by the elements.
This is an extraordinary undertaking, far removed from the confines of a traditional workshop. By forging your Wedding Bands in the wild, the very atmosphere, geography, and memory of your special place are infused into the metal from its very first spark. Creating memories that you can carry around with you in your new Chapter.
Start Your Wedding Band Journey.
How It Works.
1. Choose Your Location.
The first step is selecting the landscape where your wedding bands will be born. This can be anywhere across the UK, from a nostalgic childhood spot to a dramatic mountain peak. Currently, our most sought after locations for casting in situ are the breathtaking beaches of Cornwall.
2. Design & Texture.
Once your location is set, we will collaborate to design the style of your bands. We work closely with you to capture the perfect texture, offering a spectrum of finishes:
- The Organic Look: Rough, raw, and deeply textured like the rough and eroded Cornish cliff rock.
- The Refined Look: Sleek, classic, and highly polished.
3. Select Your Gemstones.
With the style and texture decided, you can choose to elevate your rings further. Decide whether you would like to embed ethically sourced gemstones into the bands for a touch of brilliance, or leave the metal beautifully plain. We work with all gemstones including Diamonds, Sapphire and Ruby.
4. Timeline & The Elements.
Because casting in nature requires the perfect alignment of the elements, this service is weather dependent. To ensure your rings aren't delayed, we advise booking your date as early as possible.
We closely monitor advanced weather forecasts to plan our casting trips. Requiring a flexible one-month window allows us to secure the perfect conditions to safely and beautifully forge your rings in the wild.
5. What do we charge?
Our location casting fee starts at £495, which covers a 200-mile radius of our Bristol workshop (including Devon and Cornwall). If you have a location you want your wedding bands made outside of that 200 mile radius it will be subject to a different charge, depending on where it is.
6. Book your free consultation.
Whether you have your heart set on a location or just want to explore what’s possible, we invite you to book a complimentary half an hour consultation. Together, we will map out your wedding ring journey and bring your vision to life.
