There is a profound magic that happens when the studio walls fall away and the horizon becomes my only boundary. My jewellery work is born in situ, crafted amidst the quiet majesty of our most cherished landscapes. To create in an Area of Outstanding Beauty is to engage in a silent dialogue with the earth, translating the raw poetry of the vistas into wearable treasures. My palette is chosen from the shifting light of the wilderness itself, using gemstones as physical echoes of the environment.
I seek out the deep wisdom of sapphires that mirror the blue hues over a rugged coastline, from the dark blues of the deep Sea to the turquoise's of the shallow pools. These stones ground my work in the eternal strength of the earth. These deep tones flow naturally into the living fire of opals, which act as the true storytellers of the landscape. They hold the iridescent shimmer of dew on a heathered moor and the flickering brilliance of a sunset breaking through cloud cover, their play of colour capturing those fleeting, ethereal moments that make a landscape feel alive.
To complete this celestial harmony, I introduce the prismatic purity of diamonds. Like sunlight catching a hidden waterfall or the first frost on a winter peak, diamonds bring a crystalline clarity to my designs, acting as anchors of light that reflect the pure, unadulterated spirit of the wild. By working directly within these landscapes, I am able to synchronise every facet and curve with the surrounding colours. Whether it is the golden ochre of autumn leaves or the soft grey of a misty valley, the jewellery becomes a talisman of the place, a fragment of the horizon you can carry with you always.
Places of inspiration and colour, Gemstones mimic these Areas of Outstanding Beauty.
